Cornerstone Company

Three directions for the new site.

Same facts, same photographs, same structure underneath. Three different ideas about what should lead. Open each one on your phone as well as here, they are built for both.

Colophon

Type leads

A printed architectural monograph. A reading serif sets the whole page, including the body copy, and the projects run as a newspaper column index. The awards are set as a book's credits page. The quiet one, and the most confident.

Field

Colour leads

The forrest teal comes off the page as flat colour, chaptering a bright flaxen site in full width bands. Graphic and decisive, closer to an exhibition identity than a brochure. The boldest of the three.

Scrub

Motion leads

A slow architectural film. Photographs pin to the screen while their captions move past, the hero settles as you scroll, and the type arrives a word at a time. This is the one that answers "make it epic".

What changed in the facts

You have a national award that was not being claimed. The Warehouses won the 2024 National Award for Commercial Architecture. It leads the recognition section on all three.

Two claims were dropped because they could not be verified: a commercial architecture commendation, and a social impact recognition. Neither holds up, and on a page read by architects an overstated claim does more damage than a missing one.

Cornerstone Stores received a High Commendation in the Horbury Hunt Commercial category at the 2018 Think Brick Awards. It did not win, so all three concepts say commendation.

What to look for

The two sentence blurb. Each concept writes its own. That line is doing more work than anything else on the page.

The credit blocks. Naming the architect, the builder and the photographer is what separates a developer who is taken seriously from one who reads as a sales operation. Check they feel right to you.

Concept 01 has no contact form, only an email address, which is the convention in this category. The other two keep a compact form. Tell me which you prefer.
